I’d like to introduce to everyone “Show Me the Bucks” aka Buckley — my 2020 Retired Racehorse Project prospect! 🐎
Yes, I convinced myself to buy myself a non-mustang… feels crazy!! Buckley is a 4 year old Thoroughbred I will be retraining all throughout next year to *hopefully* compete at the RRP in Lexington, Kentucky in October.
This is a new challenge for me and I’m not sure if I’m up to it, but I want to expand my training knowledge and expose myself to more! 🌟
I am planning on taking the year off from the Extreme Mustang Makeover competitions. January 2020 with Dakota will be my last youth competition, and in 2021 I plan on starting back up with annually competing, and by then I’ll be in the adult division which is so exciting and intimidating!
It’s so hard to take the year off, and convincing myself to follow through with that decision will be more tough.
In the past 4 years, I’ve done 9 Mustang training competitions. It is my absolute passion, I love it so so much. But it is a lot of work, and doing 9 in 4 years is a lot, to me at least! As of recently I have been feeling extremely burnt out, and for a variety of reasons, but I decided it’d be best for me to give myself a break before I am officially an adult trainer in the EMM’s, which is a whole new level of hard work!
In 2020, I’ll be focusing on my RRP thoroughbred, TIP mustangs at our TIP facility, client mustangs/horse’s, my rescue mustangs I need to train to rehome, and my personal mustangs.
We will see how this journey goes throughout the year, I’m extremely excited and of course nervous, as this is so new to me and so different from what I’ve grown used to✨
