Interested in learning how to gentle a mustang? Looking to improve your groundwork skills? Want to learn about liberty training? Want to simply spend a few days shadowing Cat?
NOW AVAILABLE: Three-day sessions at T.A.R.A. include a mix of observation of Cat working mustangs as well as hands-on time with one or more mustangs, depending on your goals. Participants should plan on arriving by 11:00am on Day One and working six or more hours each day–rain or shine. Participants are encouraged to help with horse care to better understand barn management and get to know the mustangs that will be worked.
Longer stays are available. Email Cat with inquiries. Don’t delay as her calendar fills up quickly, especially in the winter months.
- HOUSING: Participants can stay at a local hotel (Country Inn & Suites in Gainesville).
- TRANSPORTATION: If flying into Gainesville Regional Airport, please rent a car. Archer is very rural and there is no public transportation.
- COST: $500 for 3-days (not including housing). If bringing your own horse, you must have current Coggins and Health Certificate. Additional fee for stall and paddock rental ($100 for 3-days). Any horse with visible signs of illness (regardless of health certificate) or wounds/injury will not be permitted in the arena, round pens, or riding ring.
